How to Fix Error Code P0037

1. Check and clear the code

   Ensure the vehicle is parked on level ground with the parking brake engaged before starting diagnostics.

2. Locate Bank 1 Sensor 2

   Allow the engine to cool completely before working near the exhaust system to avoid burns.

3. Inspect the O2 sensor wiring

4. Test the O2 sensor connector

   Disconnect the battery negative terminal before unplugging electrical connectors to prevent potential shorts.

5. Check heater circuit voltage

   Be extremely careful when testing live circuits near hot exhaust components.

6. Test O2 sensor heater resistance

7. Check the fuse and relay

8. Replace the O2 sensor if faulty

   Only work on exhaust components when the system is completely cool. Exhaust parts can remain extremely hot long after engine shutdown.
